£500 to spend, what would you buy conforming to my criteria?

Post  lewis1641 on Thu Jul 28, 2011 9:32 pm

Myself and gareth rs4 MIGHT be pulling off a bit of a deal meaning we will have £500 to spend on a car to share.

It will be used as a back up car for ourselves and also as a courtesy car for the remap and wheel polishing ventures. We want something reliable, definately VAG, hopefully cool, preferably something we can remap or at least chip. Dont really want something too old either (ie sciroccos or mk1's and 2's are out)

Whatever we get will largely remain standard - if customers are borrowing it it needs to be easily insurable for them.

Best we can come up with at the minute is a MK3 GTI or if we get lucky a VR6. or possibly a vento vr6 We wont be using it much so economy isnt a great worry.

of course whatever we get we the first argument will be that i want to slam it, gareth will want it standard...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1991-LEXUS-LS400-v8-/280715856486?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item415bf80a66

again not a dub but could be an interesting choice.

that lexus could be tempting although i would wave to take a grinder with me to hack off that spoiler before driving anywhere in it!

i dont think an a4 would be on the cards as there are already 3 in the jenkins household

passat - bit too much like an a4.

i am thinking more hatchback.

going to have a look on ebay in a bit

of course this is all dependant on the corsa selling!
